Andrea Juillerat-Olvera
Qualifications Andrea is a scholar, performer, artist, teacher, and a certified sign language interpreter. Many years of physical training, combined with intensive academic studies in fine art and philosophy, give Andrea a unique perspective on contemporary issues. Between 2003-2006  she traveled extensively in the Balkan states, living and working as an English teacher in Ljubljana Slovenia.
Experience
Sign Language A highly trained interpreter working in higher education for over sixteen years. Andrea has also developed a deeply satisfying relationship with the Deaf community and works with them, outside of interpreting, to assist with advocacy and legislation.
Teaching Andrea has been teaching American Sign Language since 2009. Additionally, she has taught interpretive dance and explorative movement classes in community settings.
Performing Her training in dance began at age 11. Andrea has explored Middle Eastern dance styles, ballet, modern , hip hop and Butoh. Her performances are largely situational interventions meant to create spaces of intimacy between herself and the audience.
Writing Andrea's writing has been cultivated by a great many years of saturation in academic environments, and persistent observation of cultural phenomena and evolutionary anomaly.
