sugar shrine baptismal candy flower

This installation was an elaborated version of the sugar room. Instead of installing the dress in a hotel room I added another 150 yards of fabric to the dress so that it becomes, in fact, its own room and enclosure. Inside the sugar shrine I performed much the same as I had inside the sugar room but because of the gallery setting and stage-like nature of the room, I found that the audience behaved differently, as did I.

This installation remained in the Sierra Arts Gallery for a week, during which I performed in or around it three times. This installation was also utilized for the performance death by sugar.
